Brian’s guitar was called “Red Special”. He built it with his father in his late teens out of an old piece of mahogany fireplace. It was responsible for many of Queens famous riffs & played a large role in Queen’s sound. He has continued to use it or almost identical replicas throughout his career.

#7. Where is this statue of Freddie located?

On 25 November 1996, a bronze statue statue of Mercury was unveiled in Montreux, Switzerland overlooking Lake Geneva, almost five years to the day since his death. Freddie had fallen in love with the place in the late 70s & Queen decided to purchase Mountain Studios there in Montreux in 1979. Queen recorded six studio albums there between 1978 & 1995 before selling the studio to Queen’s long time producer David Richards. The studio is now a museum about Queen & is free to visit. It’s called Queen: The Studio Experience & is located inside Casino Barrière de Montreux.
